Happy Reading!

I am up to date on the blog, so have fun catching up with us! We are still having fun and can't wait to see everyone soon! Hugs and kisses to you all!!!

“Dress”ed for Bed

All of our clothes were being laundered, so Gavin was out of pajamas. He had to wear one of my t-shirts to bed. He thought it was great! (7/23)

Gavin, so silly!

Yep, that's sweat under my right boob.
At 5:30pm, it was sweltering!

El Cazador

Caydan caught 2 yellowfin tunas while out fishing with Scott and some friends. We had fresh tuna (just hours old) for lunch that day. Yummy! (7/22)

Photos to follow, they are on Scott's camera.

Una Cerveza Mas Por Favor

Gavin chillin' at the bar with Osvaldo and the other Mexicans. Priceless. (7/21)

9:30pm, late nighter with the boys.

Mommy's Little Helper

Gavin loves to help with diaper changes. Here he is in action. I think he has officially changed more diapers than Scott. (7/20)

Blake Bennett, Blake Bennett, Blake Bennett

Such a happy boy.

It is actually drizzling in this photo.
We were huddled under the umbrella.
Beach time in the rain, so fun!

Slippin' and a Slidin'

Gavin would not take no for an answer, so here was his first attempt at the waterslide, naked and in the dark. He loved it! Caydan on the other hand was pretty nervous. Not to be going down the slide, but to be taking Gavin down it. He worried that he would not be able to get him fast enough once they were down. That's what his ISR training was for, right? Good job boys! (7/18)

Caydan and Gavin, getting ready

And away they go!

Yay!

La Luna

Gavin loves luna and he got to see her shine down on him in all her glory. Night-night luna! (7/17)

Coppertone Boy

Nice tan!

Gavin loving the ocean

Adios Sarah

On 7/16 we had to say good-bye to Sarah. Caydan and Gavin had so much fun with her. Until next time!

Kids in the Pool

Gavin thinking about going in for a swim.

Looks like a nice spot for lunch, lucky kids.

Water fun

Blake, Rhino Ready

Usually I drive the Rhino with Blake in the sling, but this day I decided to try out the car seat. It worked great. Probably much safer too! (7/15)

Gavin and Sarah

This is the view from our casita. So tropical! (7/14)

Remember Sarah? She was our flower girl. Gavin loves her!

Chicks Dig Him

There is something about Gavin that draws all the Mexican ladies to him. Is it the blonde hair, the blue eyes, or his chubby cheeks? Whatever it is, females of every age here in the Baja drool over him. At one party, he had toddler girls holding his hand, touching his face and in awe over him. The housecleaners love him, the ladies in the restaurant/kitchen adore him and complete strangers at the park came up to him. Scott’s response, “that’s my boy!”. What’s not to love about this cute boy?

These girls came up to Gavin at the park, they loved him!

La Paz Playground

On 7/13 we went into the town of La Paz. Gavin played at the playground and then we went to dinner. Caydan stayed home to play.

Rhino Ride

On 7/12 we caravaned via 4 Rhinos and 7 Quads to another local beach. A 4 hour trip, with about 75 minutes of actual riding time. What fun! The beach was filled with beautiful shells and the water was gorgeous. The kids did an awesome job. We look forward to doing this again!

Cool breeze!

The Wild Kingdom

In the past four years that we have been coming to Bahia de los Suenos we have never seen so much wildlife. We have renamed our casita, now known as the Wild Kingdom. Of course, we have always seen geckos here, although they are not cute like the Geico gecko. They do seem to stay out of your way, but they creep me out nonetheless. We mostly see them crawling on the walls and ceilings. They also make this weird clicking noise, making their hidden presence known. Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I don’t do good with “creatures”. Over the course of the past 2 weeks, we have seen a bob cat across the driveway, 3 scorpions (which we killed) in our casita, 1 mouse (which we caught in the trap, thanks to Skippy peanut butter) in our casita and 2 raccoons on our front lawn.

Of all the creatures, the mouse freaked me out the most. It brought me to complete tears and hysterics one night. I have to share the story. Scott was out and about getting things ready to go fishing early the next morning. I was watching t.v. in the living room and saw the mouse scurry across the room. For the next 45 minutes I continued to watch him run about the room, in . Once Scott got home he assured me that the mouse ran under the fridge, but I saw him again moments later. I finally had to call it a night. We rolled towels and put them on the floor at each door so that the mouse could not enter our rooms. Scott left to fish that morning about 4:00. About 30 minutes after he left I heard the mouse again. I could not sleep knowing that the mouse was in our bedroom, so as soon as I saw the mouse run across the room, I grabbed Blake (who was still sleeping) and made a mad dash for the door. We then went outside and sat, the sun was not even up yet. Once Gavin woke up, we went to the restaurant for breakfast and hung out for a few hours. I finally went back in the room about 1:00pm, Gavin desperately needed a nap.

I am safe now that we caught the mouse, but I know there are more, as we are surrounded by fields. As long as they stay out of sight, they will be out of mind.

Update: I forgot to mention the huge cockroach I found and killed the first morning here. Since my post, we had a snake slithering on our front porch. It was rather small, but we still got one of the workers to kill it.

Beach Fun

The beach at Bahia de los Suenos is amazing. Since we are on the Sea of Cortez, the water is almost always calm, perfect for the kids to play in. The sand is beautiful and the beach is empty except for us. It could not get much better than this!

I was not a bit surprised by Caydan’s great paddle board skills.
He was up and going on his first try.

Gavin, Scott and a Modelo Light

Scott’s idea of holding Blake.

Looks like Gavin is keeping a better eye on Blake than Daddy is.

Independence Day, Baja Style

Happy belated 4th to all our family and friends! The Games’ threw a fabulous party, a 4th celebration in combination with Steve’s 60th birthday. No party would be complete without live music, skydivers, plenty of food and drinks and of course fireworks! Thanks to Sandy, Steve and Sarah for hosting a great bash!

Buenas Dias Gavin!

Gavin loves the baby to lay in bed with him. Too cute!
